Admission Procedure for Undergraduate Courses

Applicants must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination  conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education in 10+2 pattern after a period of twelve years of study or an examination by other boards recognized as equivalent by the University of North Bengal.

  1. Applicants from ISC, CBSE, National Open School or other recognized Boards must have passed in at least four subjects (excluding Environmental Studies) with English as compulsory subject.
  2. All applicants who have passed the 10+2 Examination shall be admitted in terms of the pre-amended Regulations.
  3. A candidate shall be allowed to prosecute B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. in general course (not Honours course) if he/she has passed the qualifying examinations in vocational stream subject to 1 and 2 above.
  4. A candidate prosecuting Honours in a language shall not be allowed to take up the same subject as elective.
  5. A candidate prosecuting Honours in a language subject shall not be allowed to take up another language subject as elective.
  6. In all matters with regard to admission the Principal is the final authority.

Minimum Marks for Accepting Application Forms

  1. For Hons. Courses an applicant must have obtained either (i) 55% marks in the aggregate or (ii) 50% marks in the aggregate with 60% marks in the subject.
  2. For SC/ST Candidates the minimum marks for eligibility to apply for admission to Honours courses is (i) 50% marks in the aggregate or (ii) 45% in the aggregate with 60% in the subject concerned.
  3. For General Courses an applicant must have passed with at least  40% in the aggregate.
  4. A regular course of study shall mean attendance in at least 75% of the classes actually held.
  5. Every student shall have to attend at least 75% of the classes actually held in a year/session to sit for any University examination (Part I/II/III)
  6. Honours Students will be selected on the basis of merit. Merit List will be uploaded on the website.
  7. Candidates are encouraged to apply for more than one Honours subject indicating an order of priority.

You may download the above FORM and after duly filling up, may submit it  to the college office at Siliguri campus or Rajganj campus along with the Application fee and with the necessary documents.

Application forms will also be available from Siliguri and Rajganj campus offices from 22nd  May, 2017 onward.

  1. Age Proof (Admit Card - Class- X or Pass Certificate or mark sheet issued by the Board in which date of birth is mentioned 
  2. Higher Secondary Mark sheet (photocopy of BOTH sides)
  3. SC/ST/OBC Certificates
  4. Letter from Parish Priests/Pastors – For Christians
  5. Aadhaar Card (Student)

  2. Admit Card -Class- X or Pass Certificate or mark sheet issued by the Board in which date of birth is mentioned – (One photocopy)
  3. Original Character Certificate & Transfer Certificate from the Head of the previous institution
  4. SC/ST/OBC Certificates (One photocopy)
  5. Letter from Parish Priests/Pastors – For Christians (Original)
  6. Six recent, coloured Passport size photographs
  7. Original Affidavits regarding Anti-ragging (both by Student & by Parent )
  8. Photocopy of the parent's photo ID card
  9. Original Migration Certificate
  10. ONLINE Applicants need to submit 2 photocopies of Higher Secondary Mark sheet and Admit Card

Originals of all the documents need to be shown during admission. No change of subject combinations will be allowed once the admission is completed.

Please contact the office for obtaining details regarding bus services and approved Hostel Facilities. The College will not be responsible for students who opt to stay in unapproved Hostels, paying guest accommodations, etc.

At the time of admission please take advantage of the services of our staff-counsellors for course details, subject combinations and related matters.

Career Oriented Programmes (COP)

Enrolment in COP courses are restricted only for the current students who are enrolled in academic courses and are done usually in the month of August.

The College is currently offering the following COPs which are approved by University Grants Commission (UGC):

  • Computer Applications
  • Communicative English

Students can obtain Government approved Certificates (One year), Diplomas (2 years) and Advanced Diplomas (3 years) if they successfully complete these programs.

Students have the option of obtaining Certificates and Diplomas issued by the College at the completion of these programs.
