The college offers advice and support on every aspect from choosing the course and accommodation, to staying healthy and planning the workload. The college provides the counselling service that can help to walk through any problems, and the teaching faculty who act as mentors for the newcomers. Our counsellor’s approach is to enable and support the student to find own directions in life that suits him/her as a unique human being. The counselling service is confidential.
We discourage our students from taking outside tuitions. Our staff encourages the students to approach them with problems they may have in study matters, and special care is taken to meet the academic problems and needs of each students. Similarly those who are weak in studies are encouraged to approach the Principal for arranging special free Remedial/Tutorial Classes in the college itself.
The college follows the principal that no hardworking, intelligent and promising young person should be denied a place in the college due to economic poverty. Students who are in need of financial aid should make an application at the time of admission in the prescribed forms which are available in the College office.
All our programs are taught and examined in English; therefore students whose native language is not English can attain our English courses and modules. We have UGC affiliated Communicative English courses for both prospective and current students who wish to improve their English skills during their studies.
We have a well equipped lab to help the students to improve their skills in English as well as other foreign languages.
The college provides transport facility from Bagdogra to college campus. A fleet of well furnished buses are available for students and staff.
The college provides accommodation for Boys. Presently our Xavier Hostel for Boys accommodates more than 150 students. The hostel is surrounded by sprawling greenery and tea gardens on the banks of the fabled Korotova River.
